Eye-Pal Solo in Pond Home, a Wrentham based Rest HomeHelping Seniors Read Independently is one of ABISEE’s main objectives. People’s ability to see deteriorates with age. Many seniors suffer from age related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, cataract, glaucoma and other eye conditions. As a result, every day activities, such as reading, looking through the mail, putting together puzzles or viewing family pictures becomes a real chore and requires help from family, friends or volunteers. From October 2011 residents of the Pond Home, a Wrentham-based assisted living facility, are using one of ABISEE’s most popular electronic reading devices Eye-Pal SOLO to help those with poor vision to feel active and independent again.
